Q: How does Hypnosis work?
A: Hypnosis allows us to access our subconscious mind. The subconsious mind is where our basic bodily functions like breathing and heart beating are controlled. It is also where every belief, thought, word, and experience you have ever had is stored. Through hypnosis your subconscious mind can be rewired to overcome anxieties, fears, phobias, negative habits, heal pain, enhance skills, etc.
Q: Will I be asleep?
A: No, you will be seated with your eyes closed and fully aware of the entire session.
Q: What does hypnosis feel like?
A: Hypnosis is much like a daydream where you are aware of where you are and what you are doing, but at the same time you are immersed in the experience and sensations of your thoughts, ideas, and
images. Examples of this natural state of the mind are like watching a movie, driving home on auto-pilot, or practicing meditation.
Q: Can I be hypnotized?
A: Most people go under hypnosis very easily, while a small
percentage can show great resistance because of fear of being controlled. When under hypnosis, you are completely in control and can stop the session whenever you need to.
Q: Do I need to believe in hypnosis for it to work?
A: No. Hypnosis is based on scientific principles which work whether or not we believe in them. In 1958 the AMA (American Medical Association) recognized hypnosis as a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of medical and behavioral problems.
Q: What will the hypnotherapy session be like?
A: The session will begin with questions to get some insight into why you've come, what motivates you, and what changes you want to see and feel. Next, while sitting in a comfortable position you will begin to go into a state of relaxation. Once in a relaxed state, I will guide you on the journey to experience what you want changed and offer positive suggestions you desire to your subconscious mind to achieve the change you want to achieve. At the end of the session, your subconscious mind will have new thoughts and images to put the healing process in motion. The session will last approximately 2 hours.
